Richard Thomas, Sculptor was welcomed by Richard Danskin Galleries at the El Paseo Art Walk

On Thursday, March 3, 2011, the owners of Richard Danskin Galleries, Val and Geoff Douglas warmly welcomed Richard Thomas, Sculptor, and his wife, Sheri Ziebell at the El Paseo Art Walk, in Palm Desert, California.  It was certainly a successful evening as over 250 people visited the gallery within a couple of hours.  Richard Thomas displayed one of his works in progress which is a sculpture within a frame, usually called a bas (pronounced bah…like a sheep!) relief.  As Richard introduced himself to the visitors,

there were lots of interested on-lookers all with questions and admiration for the work.  The questions from the visitors varied – they ran from “how do you do that?” to discussing what type of finish or patina Richard will use.  A big thank you to Richard Danskin Galleries for the opportunity to participate in the Art Walk!

Art Business News names Richard Thomas, Sculptor, as one of “Today’s Top Artists”

Art Business News Magazine featured Richard Thomas, Sculptor, in its September/October 2010 edition. The entire magazine is dedicated to “Today’s Top Artists” and as editior-in-Chief, Kristin Stefek Brashares notes, “…we selected the artists for this special honor based on certain criteria. Each artist had to have significant representation in galleries nationwide and successful limited-edition and/or originals programs.” Needless to say, it’s a great honor to be included in this small group of elite artists.

Richard Thomas’ Sculptures on display at O’Brien Estates in Napa Valley

Bart and Barb O’Brien (http://obrienestates.com) have graciously placed two of Richard Thomas’ sculptures in their beautiful tasting room in Napa, CA.  “Loving Life” and “Early Harvest” grace the busy tasting room.  Since Bart and Barb’s love story involves coming to Napa Valley on their third date and ultimately creating a wine portfolio based on their love story, it seems fitting to have Richard Thomas’ romantic bronze sculptures in their tasting room!

Richard Thomas and his wife Sheri Ziebell were fortunate to visit O’Brien Estates with their friends as well as collectors, Andrea and Jay Sternberg.  Of course, some wine tasting was in order (oh, so delicious!) as well as a fun and informative tour of the wonderful O’Brien’s estate by delightful Rena.
